Hi there – I’m Karina, the Manager of Welcome Nurseries @ Crompton Street.

Welcome to our nursery in Bury, Manchester, a beautiful place in the heart of the town centre for children aged three months to five years.

Parents choose us because of our fantastic facilities, all of which are sprawled over three floors! From our newly refurbished jungle gym to our comfortable and inspiring playrooms, we offer something for every child at our fantastic nursery!

Located in Bury city centre, we are just a short walk from all key public transport links and have on site parking too.

This nursery prides itself on our strong relationships with parents and works closely with them to ensure that children of all backgrounds and diversities have a wonderful experience. We offer a range of activities, from phonics, music and numbers through to SEN and additional language support.

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

My day starts early so that I am present for when the children arrive, it’s always important to start the day with a smile!

I absolutely love the location of the nursery as it’s in a beautiful converted post office dating from the 1800s, a building which everybody in Bury can recognise. I dedicate a lot of my day to staff training, observation and professional development. I believe that staff can learn something everyday and can educate each other all of the time. I spend time with the children in the day running through activities and also ensure that I’m in the office for admin and to chat to new parents too!

Why do you love your job?

Working in a nursery comes naturally to me, I wouldn’t do anything else! I’ve worked my way up on my apprenticeship to a manager and I’m proud of the work that I do for children, parents and the local community.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think the parents love the nursery because of the incredible staff. I’m really proud of the people that I work with and the facilities that we offer here at Bury. Whatever your situation, we are here to help and support your child.

What’s a life motto you like to live by?

It doesn’t matter how old you are to learn something new everyday.

How do I book a place for my child?

If you would like to book a place for your child, please fill out the enquiry form, we will then get in touch with you to discuss your interest further.

Are all staff DBS (CRB/police) checked and first aid trained?

All our staff have an enhanced DBS check, this is our way of ensuring quality and safety in our team. All our staff are also paediatric first aid trained and fully aware of the correct action to take in an emergency. We understand that safety is your primary concern – it is ours too.

My child has special educational needs, can they still attend?

Yes, we are happy to discuss any specific requirements you might have regarding SENDCo for your child, working to provide the best possible experience for your little one. We follow the layout of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government approved structure for the development and learning of all children aged newborn to five years. Along these lines, we deliver a full range of activities for your little ones, aimed at boosting their communication and aiding them in new discoveries daily.

Amazing nursery! The staff are fantastic and know exactly what they are doing. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds in her learning since moving to this nursery. I really can’t recommend it enough. She loves it and she’s happy, which means that I’m happy too!

This nursery is fantastic! The staff are amazing and my son loves attending, he always can’t wait till Monday so that he can go! The relationship with all the staff members is wonderful, what else can I say! Superb nursery.

My daughter has been been going to nursery for about two months now and she loves it. The staff are well trained and have a great sense of how to treat the kids. They’re brilliant at helping my daughter and keeping her up with everything. At the end of each session the staff brief me on what she has been up to and everything she has eaten, I am so thankful to the great staff.

Such a great setting with an amazing team in place. My son is in pre-school and he learns something new every day. One of his new skills is that he can now read/write his name! How amazing is that?! Great job, well done and thank you!

My son completed her early years education in this nursery last summer. He is on his way to school now. He really enjoyed his time during his stay and I found the team to be very caring and knowledgable! Thank you guys for all your support over the years!

Great team, great location and service, literally 5 minutes away from my work!-.
