Hi there – I’m Jane, the Manager of Welcome Nurseries @ Lilliput Farm.

Welcome to our nursery in Sandbach, Cheshire, a wonderful place for adventure and happiness. I hope this is the perfect find for your little one!

Parents choose us because of our individual beautiful gardens, wonderful meadows and great flexibility.

This nursery has a brilliant approach to learning and development due to our array of facilities. From our musical courtyard through to our sensory garden, we supply children with endless options to explore.

Providing childcare for children aged new born to five years, Lilliput Farm is well situated within walking distance of the train station and is equipped with on site parking.

For families walking to the nursery, private access of the Rail Trail along the salt mine allows a beautiful wander each morning.

The outdoors is where we feel in our element and our lovely staff are always happy to take the children out in nature, complete with puddle suits of course!

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

I always make sure that I am there each morning in order to greet the parents and children at the door, it’s wonderful to make a great first impression and to see all the smiling faces of the children. My day then centres on monitoring and observing practice and delivering training to the members of staff. My days also revolve around health and safety and recruitment interviews with potential staff, so I’m a busy bee!

Why do you love your job?

I absolutely love seeing the children happy. It really is wonderful to watch them develop, thrive and ultimately succeed at tasks that they were unable to do at the start of the day. I like that we are with them on that journey.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think that parents love the nursery because of the huge outside area that we have. Children are able to head outdoors into nature as much as possible and I think parents like the fact that children can get messy and have fun!

What’s a life motto you like to live by?

If children live with encouragement they learn confidence, tolerance they learn patience, praise they learn appreciation, acceptance they learn to love and approval they learn to like themselves.

How do I book a place for my child?

If you would like to book a place for your child, please fill out the enquiry form, we will then get in touch with you to discuss your interest further.

Are all staff DBS (CRB/police) checked and first aid trained?

All our staff have an enhanced DBS check, this is our way of ensuring quality and safety in our team. All our staff are also paediatric first aid trained and fully aware of the correct action to take in an emergency. We understand that safety is your primary concern – it is ours too.

My child has special educational needs, can they still attend?

Yes, we are happy to discuss any specific requirements you might have regarding SENDCo for your child, working to provide the best possible experience for your little one. We follow the layout of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government approved structure for the development and learning of all children aged newborn to five years. Along these lines, we deliver a full range of activities for your little ones, aimed at boosting their communication and aiding them in new discoveries daily.

My two boys had many happy days at Lilliput, the variety of activities and the well planned outdoor space to enhance young learning is just amazing. The staff are amazing and flexible with accommodating childcare at short notice.

I have been sending my children there for over 2 years, and cannot fault the nursery or staff. It’s a small setting with separate areas for babies, Tweenies, toddlers and preschool children. It’s located on a working farm, and the children go for trips on the farm to see lambs and tractors. There is also an indoor soft play area for times when the weather is not so great. There is plenty of time for play time when they are little and the preparation for school with a little extra discipline in my experience has been excellent. (As in staying at the table and asking to leave, and drawing/writing etc).

Lovely place to send my little ones. Lovely, friendly staff, lots of materials available for the children, nice clean rooms throughout and well planned, cooked meals and snacks!

Welcome Nurseries@ Lilliput Farm is amazing. The staff, the building, the owners, management and the lay out of everything is awesome.
