Hi there – I’m Nicola, the Manager of Welcome Nurseries @ Daisy Chain.

Welcome to our nursery in Ingol, Preston, a homely, secure, caring and loving environment for your child. I hope this is the perfect place for your little one!

Parents choose this nursery because of how established we are within the community. Alongside our extensive facilities, we also offer activities for children off the nursery site, from swimming through to football coaching.

Surrounded by beautiful parks and just a short walk from the famous Guild Wheel walking paths, our nursery is in both a beautiful and welcoming location. Located right off the M6 with a large car park on site for parents and visitors to use, we are also right next to a busy bus stop for those accessing via public transport.

Providing childcare for children aged three months to five years, we are proud of our relationship and trust with parents; impressive facilities, beautiful garden and our highly trained staff, one of which has been nominated for a nursery award!

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

My day starts early as it’s always great to be there in time to greet the children as they arrive. My mornings are great as I spend time with the children before the rest of the staff arrive for 9am. We like to run through what the children have been up to that morning, sing some songs and play some games.

After this is my morning coffee, various admin, phone calls to parents and conducting daily tours of the nursery! I finish the day off by heading to the door to wave goodbye to the children and to chat with the parents.

Why do you love your job?

I really love my job because no two days are the same! It’s brilliant to spend time with staff and get to know the personalities of the children. I’m definitely a people person and I like to make sure that I’m not in the office all day! I love my job because I meet new people everyday and create bonds with staff, parents and children that are really strong.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think the parents love the nursery because they feel included and welcomed by the staff. We take pride in being a home-from-home nursery and both child and parent happiness are at the forefront of everything we do. All of our staff are trained level three and above and all are adept in first aid, factors that we know are important for parents to be aware of.

What are your favourite hobbies outside of work?

I have a few! I absolutely love quizzes, and I really like to incorporate them in activities for the children in the nursery- I was even on an episode of Egg Heads! Alongside my fascination for all things quizzical, I’ve also just taken up tap dancing, so I’m a tap dancing quizzer!

How do I book a place for my child?

If you would like to book a place for your child, please fill out the enquiry form, we will then get in touch with you to discuss your interest further.

Are all staff DBS (CRB/police) checked and first aid trained?

All our staff have an enhanced DBS check, this is our way of ensuring quality and safety in our team. All our staff are also paediatric first aid trained and fully aware of the correct action to take in an emergency. We understand that safety is your primary concern – it is ours too.

My child has special educational needs, can they still attend?

Yes, we are happy to discuss any specific requirements you might have regarding SENDCo for your child, working to provide the best possible experience for your little one. We follow the layout of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government approved structure for the development and learning of all children aged newborn to five years. Along these lines, we deliver a full range of activities for your little ones, aimed at boosting their communication and aiding them in new discoveries daily.

Daisy chain is amazing, my little boy loves going and enjoys it that much he sometimes doesn’t want to leave. All the staff are fantastic and so lovely.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. My daughter only just left to go to school and loved it – she didn’t want to leave. My son still there goes three days per week and loves it. The nursery staff are wonderful with the children. I highly recommend the nursery.

My daughter started here just over a year ago. The staff are friendly and helpful and my daughter is always excited to go to nursery. I have always been pleased with the level of care they provide for my child and I know my child is happy as she talks about the staff a lot at home.

Friendly and welcoming staff, always happy to help with anything. Both my daughters loved it here and made many friends and adore the staff. 100% recommend this nursery to anyone in the area!

Daisy Chain nursery is a fantastic place. The staff are amazing and lovely and are always up for a chat. My niece absolutely loves going to nursery and her development since starting there has come on in leaps and bounds. She loves the extra activities she does like football and swimming. Her relationships with all the staff are lovely to see especially her relationship with her key worker. She’s made some amazing memories and friends and I’m so happy she will continue there now until she goes to school. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Fantastic nursery. All the staff have been wonderful in looking after my grandchildren. They are caring, supportive and the children have made amazing progress. I just can’t recommend it highly enough.

Any parent looking for a nursery stop here! I honestly can’t recommend all the women at Daisy Chain enough! I was so worried about leaving my little one and going back to work but the ladies honestly made me feel so comfortable and had no problems at all with me calling to check up on him.
My little boy has been going to Daisy Chain for about 5/6 months now and absolutely loves it. His speech and everything else has come on loads and he’s always coming home singing a new nursery rhyme everyday. Absolutely 10/10 – I really can’t recommend enough. Thank you for everything!

I cannot recommend Daisy Chain enough. My daughter started there when she was 3. She has a diagnosis of autism and is non-verbal. The staff went out of their way to care for my daughter, including completing extra training to have a better understanding of her condition, buying in specialist equipment to meet her sensory needs and helping me navigate through all the paperwork that comes with having a child with SEN.
They were also integral in toilet training my daughter, something we were told from specialists she would never understand. They also made sure she was school-ready and helped her with the transition to her SEN school by accompanying her for taster days. They went above and beyond for her, in particular, her key worker. All the staff have always been friendly and helpful throughout my daughter’s time with Welcome Nurseries@Daisy Chain.

Both of my daughters have been to Daisy Chain Ingol. From the first time I went to visit the nursery I felt at home. All of the staff are friendly and approachable which put me and my children at ease instantly, especially since my girls are very shy and wary of people. As of this week, both of my girls are at school now and I can’t thank Daisy Chain enough for all the preparation that went into getting them ready and confident enough to start their new chapter!

Such great friendly staff that made my son feel at home. I’m so happy I bought him here and would definitely recommend this nursery.

Wow! As far as nurseries go this nursery is warm and welcoming. All the staff welcome you, and make your child feel safe. The ladies go above and beyond to make sure your child is settled and enjoys their time at nursery.

They are absolutely amazing, even with my fussy child, they learn her quirks and sing nursery rhymes, engage her in pretend play, making brews and food, and then cuddle her when she needs comfort. I couldn’t find a bad thing to say about them. We feel so lucky to have found a brilliant warm setting!
