Hi there – I’m Tracy, the Manager of Welcome Nurseries @ Moor Park Avenue.

Welcome to our nursery in Preston, Lancashire, a homely, stimulating environment in the beautiful location of Moor Park, I hope this is the perfect place for your little one!

Parents choose us because we are well established within the local area and close to beautiful green spaces. We are also well experienced in childcare for children with special, educational needs.

This nursery has a brilliant approach to learning and overall development, providing high quality care for your children and promoting positive attitudes as well.

Providing childcare for children aged three months to five years, we are proud of our well trained staff, SEN strengths and strong connection with the community.

Situated nearby to public transport links and with street parking available, we are also within walking distance of many local schools and have been based at our site now for over twenty years.

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

My days vary all of the time as no day is the same for a nursery manager. I like to play a hands on role in my job and therefore I get to spend time with the children in the morning before the remaining staff arrive.

Between 7:30 to 9:00am I greet them at the door, help them with coats and bags and sort out breakfast for them. After this I am usually speaking to members of staff and keeping up to date with the daily goings on at the nursery.

I like to be there at the end of the day to say goodbye to the children and to have a chat with the parents.

Why do you love your job?

I absolutely love my job because every single day is just so different and diverse. It really is brilliant to work in such a brilliant place with wonderful staff and children. The feeling I get when I get to watch the children develop, learn and succeed is an incredible one and if it could be bottled it would be flying off the shelves! It is so great to be able to make a difference in a child’s life.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think the parents love the nursery due to the friendly, family feel which we like to emulate as an establishment. It is always super important to us that parents feel happy and comfortable with sending their children to us.

What are your favourite hobbies outside of work?

Spending time with my family! I am a very family orientated person so I am looking forward to the end of lockdown when I can see them all again.
I also absolutely love reading when I can find the time!

FAQ's

How do I book a place for my child?

If you would like to book a place for your child, please fill out the enquiry form, we will then get in touch with you to discuss your interest further.

Are all staff DBS (CRB/police) checked and first aid trained?

All our staff have an enhanced DBS check, this is our way of ensuring quality and safety in our team. All our staff are also paediatric first aid trained and fully aware of the correct action to take in an emergency. We understand that safety is your primary concern – it is ours too.

My child has special educational needs, can they still attend?

Yes, we are happy to discuss any specific requirements you might have regarding SENDCo for your child, working to provide the best possible experience for your little one. We follow the layout of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government approved structure for the development and learning of all children aged newborn to five years. Along these lines, we deliver a full range of activities for your little ones, aimed at boosting their communication and aiding them in new discoveries daily.

Testimonials:

My darling son has been placed in Welcome Nurseries@Little Angels since he was eight months. He has always been looked after by the staff there with the utmost care. The staff ratio has always been excellent, the staff are highly experienced and supported me as a new mum with toilet training. Also, my darling son has always maintained good health there as well. He has flourished with confidence there. Regular parents evening and the staff there will stop and chat, always forthcoming, warm and affectionate towards all their children. Very ideal location, right next to the park so the children get their outdoor experience and become resilient.

My daughter was 18 months when she first started Welcome Nurseries@Little Angels. She was placed in the baby room where she was given the time and confidence to communicate and play with others. She soon developed new skills and moved into the next room for 2 years old. My daughter is now upstairs with children who are 2.5 – 3 years old. Little Angels is an excellent nursery and in a perfect location for me to drop off and pick my child up.
The staff are very professional with outstanding manners. They respect my wishes and also give me feedback on my child’s care. I find the staff very approachable. My daughter seems happy attending Little Angels nursery and has settled in very nicely. Recently my child has been attending swimming lessons from nursery which I am extremely happy about. Little Angels also allows the children to take part in raising money for various charity events which encourages the little children to have fun and enjoy.

My daughter started at Little Angels when she was 5 months old and i couldn’t have asked for any better care for her. The girls are all fantastic and give their all into looking after the children in their care. My daughter starts school this year and will miss all the friends she has made but our youngest daughter who is 9 months old is starting in January and i am confident that the care she will be given will be excellent.

Brilliant Nursery. So impressed by their professionalism, knowledge and observation of my daughter. She’s settled in so well and made some good friends and gained so much confidence. I love that they can use the big park opposite and have so manny creative ideas to support the EYFS. They are so kind and really on the ball!
