Hi there – I’m Julie, the Deputy Manager of Welcome Nurseries @ Old Hall Private Day Nursery.

Welcome to our nursery in Congleton, where children leave with smiles on their faces and stories to tell. I hope this is the perfect place for your little one!

Parents choose us because of our freshly cooked food, flexibility and brilliant outdoor play area.

This nursery has an innovative approach, utilising both child and adult led learning during the day to boost creativity and confidence.

We are proud of our strong connection with parents and carers, allowing them access to their child’s online learning portal in order to monitor their progress and success.

It’s important for parents to discover what the children have been up to in the day.

Providing childcare from three months to five years, we are easily accessible via local bus routes as well as providing on site parking for all visitors.

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

My day starts early because it is important to greet the children at the door and to talk with the parents too. We like to kick things off at 9am with breakfast for the children who are then greeted by their key worker for the day.

I like to be as involved as I can be with the children during the day, especially when we take part in creative activities. Usual mornings consist of outdoor play, story time, singing and a freshly cooked lunch on site.

It’s great to see the children learn and develop as the day goes on.

At the end of the day, you’ll usually find me outside again saying bye to them and making sure that they remember their learning books to show their family.

Why do you love your job?

I love my job because every day is different. I’ve been in this role for fifteen years now and not one day is the same and I love that! It’s brilliant to see the children leave with a smile on their face.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think the parents love the nursery because of how we regularly update them on their child’s progress. From the online portal through to their child’s daily learning book, they’re always happy that their child has been up to something in the day which might not have been possible at home- especially messy play!

What are your favourite hobbies outside of work?

I love walking, meeting new people and attending courses. We also like to get involved in local fundraisers for the community too!

FAQ's

How do I book a place for my child?

If you would like to book a place for your child, please fill out the enquiry form, we will then get in touch with you to discuss your interest further.

Are all staff DBS (CRB/police) checked and first aid trained?

All our staff have an enhanced DBS check, this is our way of ensuring quality and safety in our team. All our staff are also paediatric first aid trained and fully aware of the correct action to take in an emergency. We understand that safety is your primary concern – it is ours too.

My child has special educational needs, can they still attend?

Yes, we are happy to discuss any specific requirements you might have regarding SENDCo for your child, working to provide the best possible experience for your little one. We follow the layout of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government approved structure for the development and learning of all children aged newborn to five years. Along these lines, we deliver a full range of activities for your little ones, aimed at boosting their communication and aiding them in new discoveries daily.

Testimonials:

My daughter has really come along whilst at this nursery. All the girls are absolutely lovely and encouraging. They are so helpful when it comes to what we can do at home with our daughter. The fact that all the girls have worked there for years is a real testament to the management which leads to it being brilliant for the children and their relationships with the staff.
