Welcome to our nursery in Swinton, Manchester, a home-from-home place with a welcoming and reassuring feel for parents, carers and children. I hope this is the perfect find for your little one!

Parents choose us because of our focus on child led learning and development. Using the curiosity approach, we encourage children to explore new skills in their own way as we support them through the process. Located in Swinton and surrounded by local parks and a wonderful nature trail, we’re accessible by both car and public transport, with on site parking and near by bus stops.

This nursery has a both a comforting and soothing environment, with children encouraged to head out into the garden to meet the resident robin, discover something new and explore the apple trees.

We provide childcare for children aged new born to five years and we are proud of our innovative approach to nursery life and our strong connections with parents from the area.

What happens in a day in the life of a Nursery Manager?

What does a normal day involve for you?

I’m in the nursery before the children in order to greet them when they arrive. After this, I spend time with the children to observe what they’re getting up to. We have constant outdoor access to the garden so it’s wonderful to see what takes the children’s interest

I chat to staff, prospective parents and conduct admin throughout the rest of the day, yet I always like to check in on the children and help with any activities. I undertook my forest school training a few years ago so this has been something that I like to incorporate into the day as well.

On certain days we take the children to supermarkets in order to practice counting or to the nature trail to see the squirrels. I’m always there when the children leave in order to see the parents, all of whom have my personal number to contact me with queries which they find reassuring.

Why do you love your job?

I’ve worked in child care for the past twenty years and I’m incredibly passionate about what I do.

Working my way up from an apprentice to a manager took a lot of hard work, and I’m keen to support my staff in their journey towards this goal too.

I love my job because it’s amazing to see the look on a child’s face when they achieve something they were struggling to do that morning. It’s wonderful to change a child’s day for the better, early years experiences such as nursery can shape children’s futures and teach them to be truthful, honest and really amazing.

Why do parents love your nursery?

I think the parents love the nursery because of the variety of experiences we offer the children. There is a lot of respect and trust between us and the parents and this is really important.

What are your favourite hobbies outside of work?

Being a mum! I absolutely love my job so when I’m not there I’m usually out and about organising activities for the children and luckily these are activities my own children love too.
